Fergie’s children’s book axed before it goes on sale amid Epstein scandal | Royal | News
Sarah Ferguson is facing a new blow as her latest children’s book has been axed before it hits the shelves amid the scandal involving her connection to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Sarah and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor were both been stripped of their titles due to the Epstein scandal, with Andrew’s princely title also having been stripped.
Sarah, 66, was due to release her book, Flora and Fern: Kindness Along The Way on October 9, a press release in Bookseller stated. At the beginning of last week, the children’s book was listed as being available for purchase from November 20 – but appears to have been removed and is now no longer available.
It has now been marked as “withdrawn from sale” at request of the publisher, NielsonIQ Book Data confirmed to the BBC.
Sarah came under fire back in September following new revelations about an email that she had sent to Epstein in 2011 – after his release from jail following child sex offences.
The email sent was previously reported in The Sun and the Mail on Sunday. It read: “I know you feel hellaciously let down by me. And I must humbly apologise to you and your heart for that.
“You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family. I am apologising to you today for not replying to your email or reaching out to you. I was bedridden with fear. I was paralysed.
“I was advised, in no uncertain terms, to have nothing to do with you and to not speak or email you. And if I did – I would cause more problems to you, the Duke and myself. I was broken and lost. So please understand. I didn’t want to hurt Andrew one more time. I was in overriding fear. I am sorry.”
As well as stripping their titles, the former couple, who still live together despite their divorce in 1996, have agreed to leave Royal Lodge.
Andrew, 65, and Sarah have lived in the 30-room property since 2003, with it recently coming to light that the royal had only been paying “peppercorn rent” for decades.
It remains unknown where the former couple will live after their exit from their home of 22 years. Sarah is said to be eyeing up Adelaide Cottage, whilst Andrew is reportedly keen on Frogmore Cottage.
