Lando Norris could win the Drivers’ Championship title at the Qatar Grand Prix, but Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen will be doing everything they can to stop that from happening. The young Brit will guarantee top spot in the standings if he takes victory at the Lusail International Circuit, no matter where his two closest rivals end up.

Crucially, he won’t be on pole position with Piastri snatching that honour away from him on Saturday evening. Verstappen will line up in third place and needs to finish ahead of Norris to maintain his fading title hopes. Only time will tell if the score is settled in Qatar or whether a final-day decider will be required in Abu Dhabi next weekend.
