Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi urged to do 5 things as ‘cancel’ warning issued | Travel News | Travel
Holidaymakers in Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi have been issued a warning regarding flight disruptions. It comes as continuing tensions across the Middle East have had a major impact on the airspace, resulting in numerous cancellations, delays and reroutes.
Flight comparison site Skyscanner has issued a warning to travellers, urging them to do five things amid the travel chaos. The statement, last updated on March 30, 2026, noted that the company is “closely monitoring airspace changes” and its impact on flight schedules.
It added: “At the time of writing, several countries have closed their airspace. As a result, many flights operating through major transit hubs, including Dubai (DXB), Doha (DOH) and Abu Dhabi (AUH), are being cancelled, delayed or rerouted.
“Airports including Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport have reopened, but may be operating with reduced services. Schedules could still be disrupted, so we recommend checking your airport’s live arrivals and departures board for the latest updates before travelling.”
Skyscanner stated that it is working to keep information as up to date as possible but has given travellers five steps to follow as of now. You can find them below:
Turn on airline notifications (email, SMS and app alerts)
Do not cancel your booking until you’ve checked your airline’s rebooking and refund options
Screenshot your booking confirmation and save airline messages
If you’re connecting through a major hub, check your full itinerary, not just your first flight
Keep receipts for any extra costs (food, hotels, transport and essentials)
