Whether you’re in search of a present for a fragrance lover or simply looking for a new signature scent for February 14, Debenhams is running a massive beauty sale right now, with savings on a wide range of designer fragrances for men and women. 

Shoppers can get discounts on brands like Dolce and Gabbana, Calvin Klein and more, with discounts from as low as 10% to over 60% off, so you may be able to find an impressive gift without breaking the bank. If it’s coming down to the wire, every order over £25 qualifies for free express delivery with the code EXPRESSDEL at checkout. That means even if you’ve left things until now, you’ll still be able to get delivery up to the big day (provided you order by Friday).

Lovely is a great choice for fans of bright, feminine scents, with top notes of lavender, bergamot and mandarin orange, middle notes of patchouli, orchid and narcissus, and a base of musk, cedarwood and white amber. While it’s not technically a designer, it does have a big celebrity name attached as the fragrance was designed by none other than Sex and the City’s Sarah Jessica Parker. 

It works for all seasons, but with spring just around the corner, it can be a great way to usher in the nicer weather. Its packaging is designed to look like a vintage perfume bottle, making it a pretty addition to any dressing table.

“I love this scent,” said one fan of the perfume. “It’s fresh and lovely. It can be used as an everyday perfume. I have been using it for years.”

Shoppers can save up to 63% on the fragrance, available in 30, 50, or 100ml bottles. All sizes are currently on sale, but the biggest savings are on the largest bottle, which has been discounted from £48 to £18, saving shoppers £30. 

If you’re shopping for a man, a masculine, fresh scent is always a welcome choice. This Issey Miyake men’s fragrance is available with up to 53% off, with savings on both a 75ml and a 125ml bottle. The larger bottle is great value, as shoppers can save £42.75 with the current discount.

The scent is a more masculine spin on the brand’s classic, unisex L’Eau d’Issey. Its top notes combine fresh citrus with woods and fresh herbs like coriander, sage and tarragon. It also has a spicy middle of nutmeg, cinnamon, saffron and geranium and a masculine base of vetiver, musk, sandalwood, amber and tobacco. 

Debenhams customers who use the fragrance commented on the longevity, with one saying: “Really nice fragrance, tends to last most of the day, which is good.”

Another wrote: “Smells fantastic. Very good value for money. Lasts a good while and is not overpowering.”

If you want a little more than just a bottle of fragrance, a gift set is a good way to go. Debenhams has plenty on sale at the moment, but if you’re searching for an extra special bundle, this is one of the most compelling offers I’ve spotted.  

Flowerbomb is one of Viktor and Rolf’s most popular fragrances, and it’s great for lovers of spicy floral scents that pack a punch. The set is currently 42% off, down from £145 to £85. It gets you a 100ml bottle of the eau de parfum (which usually sells for £135 on its own), as well as a matching 200ml body cream and a travel spray so you can take it with you everywhere. 

It’s an interestingly layered scent, with fresh notes of bergamot and green tea, a floral middle with jasmine, rose, freesia and orchid, and a comforting base of patchouli, musk and vanilla. It’s presented in a grenade-shaped bottle, which, according to the brand, is meant to evoke “an explosion of 1,000 flowers” – what’s more romantic than that?

Flowerbomb could be a great option for date night, and fans seem to agree. One said: “This was the first luxury perfume I purchased and has continued to be one I regularly grab for on date nights”.

Another said it was “sexy, sweet, and really feminine.”

Another men’s scent that is a bit more intense and long-lasting is Calvin Klein Eternity Aromatic Essence, which is available with up to 49% off. The biggest saving is on the 50ml bottle, which has been reduced from £72 to £37, and the 100ml bottle has 20% off, dropping the price to £72.80 from £91.

The fragrance is a take on the brand’s classic Eternity, and belongs in the fougère scent family, which usually contains aromatics and some green notes. This makes it a great choice for fans of classic men’s scents, as they usually belong in this family.

It has top notes of juniper, lemon and Sichuan pepper, with a heart of coconut accord and lavender essence, and a grounding base of cardamom, cedarwood and patchouli. 

A fan of the scent said: “Addictive smell, can’t help following my partner around to get a whiff! Quite strong, so no need to spray too much.”

Everyone knows Valentine’s Day is date night, and if you need a special scent for the occasion, Dolce and Gabbana’s The One Gold is a great option. It has been slashed by 50%, taking the price of a 50ml bottle of eau de parfum from £106 to £53.

It has fruity top notes of plum, mandarin and pink pepper, with a floral heart of rose, jasmine and lily of the valley, and a base of vanilla, patchouli and white musk. 

This would be a great perfume for special occasions, as many shoppers have commented on its longevity and strength. One said: “This perfume smells divine”, while another wrote, “If you want to get your man’s attention. This is the fragrance. I love the sensual smell that it gives. Long-lasting. I get compliments on this fragrance all the time.”

Another review said: “This scent is like a sweet spice. It lasts for quite a long time, and it’s pretty strong! It’s good for a night out considering how long it lasts and how strong it is.”

If you want to match your partner, Dolce and Gabbana make a men’s version of The One, which is also on sale at the moment. The Intense version of the fragrance now has up to 47% off, with a 50ml bottle reduced from £85 to £45, and a 100ml bottle down 25% from £114 to £85.50.

This eau de parfum is a more unconventional men’s fragrance, and would be great for fans of warm, spicy scents. It has sharp top notes of lemon, bergamot and coriander, with a heart of neroli, patchouli and black pepper, and a smooth base of oakwood, tonka bean, vanilla and vetiver

A fan of the perfume called it an “amazing scent, masculine, spicy, fresh and dark.”

Several shoppers were not impressed with its longevity, with one saying “the smell doesn’t last” and another writing they “thought it might be stronger and more lasting”.

But a review on Fragrantica said: “This would be a perfect date night scent as it is an intimate scent and not one that yells or screams. It’s mellow and soft but still noticeable. If this were stronger, like some people wanted, it would be cloying and nauseating. Instead, it’s restrained and classy instead of brash and loud. This is lovely and a scent for a gentleman.”
