Couple immediately leave bridal suite in UK seaside town for 1 shocking reason | Travel News | Travel

A couple’s special getaway in one of the UK’s most iconic seaside towns came to an abrupt end after they were met with what they described as “horrific” damp and disrepair in the bridal suite of a well-known hotel. Holly Roper-Browning took to TikTok to share her disappointing experience at Tiffany’s Hotel in Blackpool, a venue often marketed as a quirky, retro-themed seaside stay. But what the couple encountered was far from romantic.

“We didn’t end up staying,” Roper-Browning said. “We ended up going downstairs and just leaving after we got in and noticed everything.”

The video opens with a brief tour with complimentary teas and coffees, an ironing board, a room safe, and what was supposed to be a deluxe feature, a Jacuzzi bath. However, the issues quickly became apparent as the Jacuzzi allegedly didn’t work properly when they tried it the first time.

But what ultimately forced the couple to leave wasn’t the broken amenities, but the visible damp patches covering the walls.

“Then we noticed all the damp,” she added. “It was horrific when you think this is where people go after they’ve just been married.”

The couple had booked two deluxe rooms for their visit, spending what Roper-Browning described as “a substantial amount of money” for what they hoped would be a luxurious and celebratory stay.

She said the experience was made even worse by the hotel’s reaction when they brought their concerns to the front desk.

“We went downstairs to explain to reception, showed them the room was covered in damp and it wasn’t up to standard,” she said. “And they just laughed and walked off.”

The clip has quickly gained traction online, drawing widespread criticism of Tiffany’s Hotel and its apparent disregard for guest comfort and customer service. However, the hotel claims they stand by their staff and their decisions.

Tiffany’s Hotel told the Daily Express “While it is true that, following an unusually heavy rainstorm, a leak appeared near one of our bay windows, this was an isolated maintenance issue which we were already aware of and addressing at the time.

What the guest failed to mention in their account is the extremely aggressive and unacceptable behaviour exhibited by their party toward our staff. Upon raising their concerns, the group launched into a tirade of verbal abuse, and our team was subjected to threatening and foul language.”

The spokesperson went on to claim that “verbal threats” were made towards staff during the incident, adding: “We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to abuse, threats, or harassment of our team. As such, and in line with our duty of care to both staff and other guests, we asked the party to leave the premises. A full refund was issued.

“We stand firmly behind our staff, who handled a very difficult situation with composure and professionalism, and we will always prioritise the safety and dignity of our team and our guests.”
