Chelsea team news leaked vs PSG after Liam Rosenior investigation | Football | Sport

A key piece of Chelsea’s starting XI ahead of Tuesday’s crunch second leg against Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly been revealed, despite an investigation into team leaks having been launched. Chelsea slipped to a disappointing 5-2 defeat away to the reigning European champions last week, with the Blues needing to overcome a mountain in the second leg.

Chelsea had left themselves in a strong position heading into the final stages of the first leg, but a late collapse saw PSG run away with the contest. The signs aren’t great for Chelsea, not least because no English side has beaten the Ligue 1 giants in their previous five Champions League encounters against Premier League teams.

Of course, the Stamford Bridge outfit did beat PSG 3-0 just a few months ago in the Club World Cup final – a scoreline that would keep Chelsea in the competition. But ahead of the second leg, it would appear that head coach Liam Rosenior has another problem on his hands.

That’s because, according to reports coming out of France, news that Wesley Fofana won’t be in the starting XI has surfaced. Fofana has started the previous two Chelsea matches – both ending in defeats – but is said to have missed out on a starting berth.

The report from French outlet Onze Mondial suggests Fofana will drop to the bench, with Trevoh Chalobah and Jorrel Hato operating as the two centre-backs instead. It also claims there will be a last-minute decision made on Malo Gusto’s fitness, after the right-back was subbed off at half-time against Newcastle.

If true, it will anger Rosenior, given the Chelsea boss claimed he would ‘get to the bottom’ of alleged team leaks following last week’s first leg. When quizzed on the situation, he said: “I wasn’t aware. I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of that if that’s the case.”

But should Chelsea crash out of Europe, and continue to stutter in the Premier League, the club’s team news leaks might not be Rosenior’s problems for much longer. That’s because Sky Sports Switzerland are reporting that a change in manager could come as soon as the summer, should Chelsea miss out on a spot in the Champions League.

After their exploits in Europe, Chelsea’s next assignment in the Premier League will be a maiden trip to Everton’s new stadium, while their first game back after the international break is against Port Vale in the FA Cup. Chelsea sit sixth in the Premier League, one point behind Liverpool in fifth.
