Cadillac release first ever F1 livery during Super Bowl with unique design concept | F1 | Sport
Cadillac unveiled its first-ever F1 livery during the Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots on Sunday, a striking black-and-white design that alternates on either side of the car.
The latest addition to the F1 grid have been teasing their first challenger since revealing a Super Bowl launch event, and their maiden effort duly delivered. America’s latest F1 squad will take to the grid in a sleek livery that is sure to stand out on the 22-car grid this year.
“This livery represents far more than a paint scheme; it represents who we are and what we bring to Formula One,” CEO Dan Towriss said. “Every detail is intentional: bold, modern, and unmistakably American, while respecting the heritage and precision that define this sport.
“Choosing to reveal our first race livery during the Super Bowl and in the heart of Times Square is a way to introduce our identity to the world at the intersection of performance, culture, and entertainment, and to connect with fans in places far beyond the paddock.”
Team principal Graeme Lowdon added: “I’m incredibly proud to reveal the colours of our 2026 Formula 1 challenger. We are a team built on bold ambition and leadership in innovation, values which we exhibited today by tapping into one of the most culturally significant sporting events in the world in a manner that has never been done by a Formula 1 team before.”
Cadillac will get a second chance to test their car on track this week at the Bahrain International Circuit after a mixed first test event for the team in Barcelona. Lowdon’s squad completed 164 laps across the three-day event in Montmelo to kickstart their pre-season.
While there were, understandably, for a new team, teething problems, veteran driver duo Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas have strong ambitions for the 2026 campaign as both stars return to the grid following one-year hiatuses.
“We are definitely not having that mindset (of being last),” Perez told Reuters. “Not with the level of investment that has been put in place. We will definitely be very disappointed to finish last. We know we will not win the championship for sure, but we definitely want to make a lot of progress and beat a couple of teams.”
Team-mate Bottas added: “I’m prepared that it could be a tough start. And I don’t mind if we don’t start in a great way. Of course I want to. But if we don’t, then that’s where we are. It’s not really where we start from, it’s where we end up together. And that’s the motivation.”
