Boots slash ‘luxury’ Versace perfume to under £50

Black Friday may not be until November 28, but with retailers like Boots having launched their sales ahead of time, there are many opportunities to score some great offers on the beauty products you’ve had in your wishlist all year. If you’re on the hunt for a designer perfume, you can snap up a Versace perfume for less than £50 as part of the health and beauty retailer’s Black Friday promotions.

A 30ml bottle of Versace Crystal Emerald eau de parfum would ordinarily retail at £63 but has been marked down to £47.25, saving shoppers 25%, reports the Liverpool Echo. This is currently the best price available on the specific fragrance, which is also sold at the Perfume Shop for the full price of £63.

The brand describes the fragrance as a floral, vibrant scent that exudes “seductive femininity”. It opens with fresh citrus notes paired with peach and punchy pink pepper, revealing a sweet middle of raspberry sorbet, rosebud and jasmine. Eventually, it settles into a warm base of musk and tonka bean.

As part of Versace’s Crystal fragrance range, it comes in a luxurious teal bottle topped off with a large, jewel-shaped top.

This fragrance shares three notes with Tom Ford’s luxurious Bitter Peach, which consistently sells for £290, and also has several notes in common with New Notes’ Osmanto Shock, currently on sale for £126.65 at Liberty.

Fragrance enthusiasts on Fragrantica have praised the luxury scent, with one saying “it’s fresh and not overly sweet, casual, calm and really pleasant.”

“This is pure luxury”, wrote another fan of the perfume, adding she gets “so many compliments” when she wears it.

It seems most buyers find the fragrance has a fresh, soapy smell, with a hint of Nivea cream. One review said: “I immediately felt a sense of nostalgia about this scent, and after wracking my brain, it finally hit me! The smell reminds me of a luxe/richer version of how my nanna would smell after using the classic big blue tin of Nivea cream to remove her makeup!”

Another review reads: “Ah, this one is gorgeous! I did not know what to expect and I find it is very well done indeed. It is not a classical fresh scent, it is more of a soft luxe bubble bath meets luxe detergent but it is so much more than that! It creates a soft, delicious bubble of cleanliness and sexiness around you… It is also very sophisticated and lasts for ages.”

But the same reviewer warned: “I think that if you like very sweet scents, you might dislike Emerald.”

As with every fragrance, shoppers who are not familiar with a scent should always opt for trying it in-store before committing to a full bottle.
