Best apps you need to download on your iPhone as App Awards confirmed
Bored of the current apps downloaded on your devices and fancy trying something new on your iPhone, MacBook, iPad or Vision Pro headset? Help is at hand with Apple just crowning the best software in its yearly App Store Awards. Fun games, TV streaming software, image editing and movie making applications have all received the prestigious gongs in 2024.
A total of 17 apps picked up the famous blue awards, including Kino (iPhone App of the Year), which helps budding filmmakers produce Hollywood-style movies right from their phones. Best iPad App of the Year went to Moises – aimed at helping musicians produce tracks from their tablets rather than hiring an expensive sound studio.
Best Apple TV App was won by F1 TV, and Best Vision Pro App was handed to Disney’s mesmerising What If…? An Immersive Story. Adobe’s Lightroom also grabbed the award for Mac App of the Year.
Other winners from this year’s event include fantasy title AFK Journey (iPhone Game of the Year) along with popular card game Balatro+ (Apple Arcade Game of the Year).
“We are thrilled to honor this impressive group of developers who are harnessing the power of Apple devices and technology to deliver experiences that enrich the lives of users and have a profound impact on their communities,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “The remarkable achievements of this year’s winners demonstrate the incredible ingenuity that can be unlocked through apps.”
