The second season of Battlefield 6 is right around the corner following its lengthy delay with it set to launch later today.

Promising to deliver a brand new map and several primary weapons, Season 2 of BF6 should hopefully be the end of what’s been a bit of a content drought for EA’s hit online shooter. It’s arriving at a crucial point in the game’s lifecycle as the development team looks to claw back players – the average daily peak on Steam has dropped from over 180k in December to barely breaking 60K in February.

If you’re looking to get stuck into the latest Battlefield 6 content as soon as possible, here’s exactly when you can play Season 2 later today.

Battlefield 6 Season 2 release time

Season 2 of Battlefield 6 will go live globally at 12pm GMT on February 17, 2026. That means there’s no way to access the content early as it will all go live around the world at the same time.

This puts the launch time of Season 2 just a couple of hours away – perfect for a little lunchtime gaming session and plenty of time to get the content downloaded ahead of the evening.

Battlefield Studios is introducing two new maps this season, although only one will be available to play later today. It’s called Contaminated and is set on a sloping mountainside in Germany.

The map is set above an underground bunker base where the fictional Pax Armata militia is working on a psychoactive smoke weapon.

In terms of size, Contaminated is equivalent to St Quentin’s Scar from Battlefield 1, or Arras from Battlefield V. It’s been designed around the AH-6 Little Bird helicopter, which makes its Battlefield 6 debut on this map.

The same helicopter will also make its way to other BF6 maps, too.

A second map will launch next month on March 17. Hagental Base is an infantry-only map set in the bunker underneath Contaminated with it looking like it could be the game’s first ‘meatgrinder’ map.
