Amazon offers tempting reason to ditch Fire TV Sticks and try something new

Anyone who is getting a little tired of their Fire TV Sticks might want to check out a new deal from Amazon. The online retailer has just released a new deal that has slashed the cost of the latest Google TV Streamer by almost 20 percent. That means homes can grab this feature-packed device for just £79.99 rather than the usual £99.99.

So what do you get for your money?

Google’s mini set-top box comes with a speedy processor for fast performance and rapid app loading. It supports pin-sharp 4K streaming along with HDR Dolby Vision for the ultimate visual treat.

All of the most popular apps are available for this device, including Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV and Prime Video plus you can access other services such as Facebook, Twitch, Spotify, Deezer and the NBA.

There’s also a generous 32GB of storage to store films, photos and more, and it gets a built-in Ethernet port to connect directly to your router for uninterrupted streaming.

Other extras include tailored recommendations for everyone in the home based on interests and previous viewing habits. There’s also a neat remote with quick buttons to launch Netflix and YouTube with just one touch. Should you lose this channel changer, a button on the back of the box will set off an alarm helping you find it again.

Finally, if you have a house full of Google gadgets, you can group this streamer with your Nest speakers, or pair your Pixel Buds Pro with spatial audio

Amazon isn’t the only store offering this price cut. Google’s own online shop has also reduced things by £20 as well. Another store that has joined the party is Argos with things dropped to £79.
