Amazon is handing out this Apple Watch at its ‘lowest ever’ price
Black Friday sales are the perfect time to be on the look out for technology deals and that’s no different this year as Amazon’s annual sale is now in full swing. Black Friday, for better or worse, is no longer one day but the whole month of November, and right now you can pick up an Apple Watch for the lowest price this particular model as ever been sold for on Amazon.
The Apple Watch SE 2 is currently discounted to £159, which is a £20 saving on its previously listed price. That’s an excellent price for a very capable smartwatch to pair with your iPhone, and is actually £60 less than the device’s original RRP of £219 when it first launched in 2022.
Amazon price tracking site Camelcamelcamel even shows this is the “lowest ever” price the Apple Watch SE 2 has been sold for on Amazon.
Though this model has since been replaced in Apple’s line up by the Apple Watch SE 3, which you can get for £219, you might want to save your hard earned cash by going for the older model, which still packs in a lot of essential features for less.
The Apple Watch SE 2 is part of Apple’s entry-level SE range that offers a more basic Apple Watch experience compared to the Apple Watch Series and Apple Watch Ultra ranges, but the SE 2 is no slouch.
It pairs with all modern iPhones, serving you up notifications from all your apps on your wrist, as well as being an accomplished fitness tracker to boot. Apple’s excellent Workout app lets you track all manner of exercise activity from walking and hiking to running, cycling, swimming (thanks to full waterproofing up to 50 metres), yoga, triathlons and many more pursuits.
Wear it all day and it will track your heart rate, with the option for high or low heart rate alerts, and with the compatible latest version of Apple’s watchOS software it’ll also track your sleep if you wear it to bed at night.
You can set daily goals in terms of calories burned and other metrics too to make sure you’re keeping as active as you want, with a whole manner of customisable watch faces, from digital and analogue to data-heavy options, and even an exclusive Snoopy one.
One thing you don’t get on the SE 2 is an always-on display. This means your chosen watch face can’t be displayed constantly on the screen. The screen will go black and blank when you’re not looking at it, and raising your wrist to look at it will turn it on. If this bothers you, you’ll have to go for one of the pricier Apple Watches such as the Series 11 or newer SE 3.
But with other safety features such as emergency SOS if the SE 2 detects you’ve been in a car crash, international emergency calling and fall detection, it’s hard to call the SE 2 a basic Apple Watch. It’s stuffed with useful, well, stuff.
Battery life is quoted at up to 18 hours, which should see you through a full day but you’ll have to charge it daily, and probably a little at night before bed if you want to track your sleep. Only the Apple Watch Ultra devices can really stretch to two days, but they are much more expensive.
The £159 offer is for the smaller 40mm Apple Watch SE 2, and it’s not clear how long this deal will last – but you don’t have to be an Amazon Prime subscriber to access this price.
