Tottenham have Igor Tudor replacement lined up already as boss sacked after 44 days | Football | Sport

Tottenham could have a potential replacement for Igor Tudor already lined up after the interim boss left the club on Sunday. Tudor arrived following the sacking of Thomas Frank earlier in the season, but his stint was nothing short of a disaster.

It all came to a head during Spurs’ crunch relegation battle with Nottingham Forest at the weekend, when the north London outfit slipped to a shocking 3-0 defeat. It’s made the prospect of relegation to the Championship a distinct possibility with seven matches of the season to play.

Spurs could have found themselves in the bottom three had West Ham picked up a result against Aston Villa, but thankfully for the Europa League winners, their London rivals also slipped to a defeat. However, it’s left Tottenham just one point above the relegation zone, with the capital club once again rolling the dice.

If reports are to be believed, they could already have their next manager lined up and ready to go, with Adi Hutter the reported frontrunner. The Austrian was let go by Monaco earlier in the season and has been out of a job ever since.

Contact has reportedly already been made between Spurs and Hutter, as they look to escape what would be a humiliating relegation from the top flight. It would be an eyebrow-raising appointment, given Hutter has no previous experience in the Premier League, which was one of the criticisms thrown at Tudor before he joined.

Former boss Ange Postecoglou has tipped Tottenham to go for a ‘circuit-breaker’ managerial change to try and avoid the drop. He told Australian broadcaster SEN 1116: “I still have a really strong attachment to the club.

“It was two years and they were by no means easy years, but we invested a lot into them. Second last game we won a European trophy, which was an incredible high.

“The connection there will be there forever. To watch them struggle has not been easy and it’s not the way I thought it would go. They’re in a hell of a fight, relegation is massive for any club but for Tottenham, it’s a pretty big deal.

“They have some fighting to do and they have the quality to get out. They need a circuit-breaker, for sure.”
