Aldi’s popular alternative to Cadbury’s Mini Eggs are being given out to customers who follow one simple step this week. The budget supermarket, which was recently named the cheapest in the UK, is giving away 40,000 Choceur Mini Chocolate Eggs.

Customers can enter a contest to win a £5 Aldi voucher, which can be used to buy up to 5 packets of these chocolate treats, priced at just 99p each. The Easter treat has gone viral on social media sites like TikTok, with some users saying they are just as good or even better than the Cadbury version of the product.

In fact, an Aldi van appeared outside Cadbury World in Birmingham last week, giving out these tasty mini chocolate eggs to passers-by. The cheeky marketing trick was shared on social media and amused chocolate fans. One Instagram user called the supermarket “savage” for the move but admitted that the “chocolate definitely tastes better”.

To be in with the chance of winning a £5 voucher, enough to bag five packets of Aldi’s popular eggs before Easter, shoppers need to email EggGiveaway@aldi.co.uk before March 27.

While a standard Cadbury Mini Egg packet costs £2, Aldi’s Choceur Mini Chocolate Eggs are just 99p, saving shoppers a staggering 51%. TikTok foodie and influencer @BeccaEatsEverything recently rated them 9/10 in a viral video, describing the flavour as “incredible”.

“Honestly, the shell is great, and the chocolate inside is really good. It’s nice and sweet, it’s milky, these are excellent,” she said.
