Customers have lavished praise on Marks and Spencer’s perfume collection, claiming the bottles “smell just like” luxury designer brands. The high street retailer stocks a selection of fragrances, which numerous shoppers have likened to popular branded products.

Yet, a crucial difference is cost, as Marks and Spencer perfumes begin at just £7. Designer perfumes can exceed £100, particularly for sought-after scents. One TikTok user revealed she discovered which “dupe” five of the Marks and Spencer perfumes represent.

She suggested purchasing the Marks and Spencer alternatives would save “a lot of money”.

The Midnight Blossom Eau De Toilette is available in a 100ml bottle for £10. Marks and Spencer’s description states: “Explore layers of soft florals and warm, musky undertones with the Midnight Blossom eau de toilette from our Discover collection.

“Uncover a bouquet of sweet jasmine as it intertwines with deep notes of tuberose and subtle amber. This product is vegan.”

@thefinancegurl likened Midnight Blossom to YSL’s Black Opium, which retails at £137 for 90ml at Boots. She added: “That’s a huge saving. This is a popular one, so it can sell out quite quickly.”

Marks and Spencer’s Red Berries and Rose fragrance costs £12.50, which the TikTok user maintained is a dupe for Giorgio Armani’s Si, reports the Mirror.

The designer perfume typically retails at £142 for 100ml. The high street retailer also stocks Gardenia and Vanilla perfume for £12.50, which @thefinancegurl described as her personal favourite.

She said: “This is a dupe for Marc Jacobs’ Daisy perfume, and honestly, it smells exactly the same.” While currently unavailable, Marks and Spencer also offers Soft Gardenia for £10.

Pink Pepper is priced at £10, reportedly serving as a Marks and Spencer alternative to La Vie Est Belle, which costs £130. Marks and Spencer’s Soft Iris fragrance allegedly resembles Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, which normally retails for £126.

Numerous customers have already sampled Marks and Spencer’s perfume collection, with one shopper commenting: “I love M&S perfume!” Another contributed: “These M&S perfumes are so beautiful and delicate, why buy the expensive ones! Such good value also.”

Nevertheless, some shoppers have found that the scent doesn’t last as long as designer perfumes. One stated: “I have tried some of these. They smell lovely but wear off too quick.”
