Drivers given NCP car park fines issued update after firm collapses into administration | UK | News

Drivers issued fines by NCP have been given an update amid news that the company has been placed into administration. NCP, which is the nation’s largest car park operator, collapsed into administration this month as a result of rising costs and and a drop in demand.

The company, which is owned by the Japanese global parking operator Park24, had been experiencing losses since the pandemic and had made multiple efforts to try and improve its cashflow. However, on March 16, 2026, Zelf Hussain, Rachael Wilkinson and Mark Banfield of PWC were appointed as Joint Administrators.

Park24 published a notice on its website informing customers of the appointment of administration, stating that “no prospect of improvement in its [NCP’s] cashflow position could be identified”.

It stated: “Accordingly, with the aim of protecting creditors’ economic interests through the preservation of the value of the business and its assets, NCP’s Board of Directors resolved to place NCP into Administration, an insolvency procedure under the laws of England and Wales.”

It added that it will “continue to co-operate in good faith regarding the orderly conduct of the Administration”.

Car parks continue to operate as normal, according to PWC, which has issued several updates to customers regarding the administration news, including one on whether customers must pay any Penalty Charge Notices.

PWC’s website reads: “The administration process does not cancel or invalidate any PCNs that have been issued. If you have received a PCN, you remain liable for payment in accordance with the terms and conditions of the car park.

“PCN payments should continue to be made in the usual manner using the payment details stated on your PCN. The Administrators are continuing to operate the business, and existing payment channels remain active. If you experience any difficulty making a payment, please contact the details provided on your notice.”

PWC also assured customers that any pre-booked parking reservations and season tickets are still valid. However, drivers are urged to monitor updates at www.pwc.co.uk/ncp as things could change in the future.

Regarding pre-booked parking, it added: “As a result of the administration, we are unfortunately unable to provide you with any refund. Please contact ncpcustomerservice@ncp.co.uk with any queries regarding your booking.”
