Spider-Man Brand New Day trailer – Tom Holland returns before Avengers Doomsday | Films | Entertainment
Can you believe it’s been five years since Spider-Man: No Way Home?
In the almost $2 billion hit Marvel movie, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker teamed up with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s variants from across the MCU multiverse.
To defeat Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin and other universe-traversing villains, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange had to make the MCU forget Holland’s Peter is Spider-Man.
This means that his girlfriend, Zendaya’s MJ, and all his friends and fellow superheroes have no idea who he is and the Web Slinger’s identity is a mystery once again.
Now he’s back in his fourth solo movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, ahead of Avengers Doomsday this Christmas.
Directed by Shang-Chi’s Dustin Daniel Cretton and set four years after the last film, the first trailer has launched and promises a proper New York City street-level story this time around. Not only that, but Spider-Man is taking on a plethora of villains from Marvel Comics, including Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Michael Mando’s Scorpion. Incredibly, the latter was teased as a future villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming nine years ago.
If that wasn’t enough, something evolutionary is happening to Peter, so he goes to Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner for help. Presumably, this means we’ll also be seeing the Hulk at some point. On top of that, Eman Esfandi (Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka) is set to be MJ’s new boyfriend, while Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) features in an undisclosed role.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits UK cinemas on July 31, 2026.
