The majority of contracted broadband customers up and down the country will face price rises come April 1, when bills are set to rise. Seemingly in reaction to this, one UK internet provider is promising anyone who signs up to its new broadband package won’t see any price hikes at all for the entirety of their contract.

Giffgaff has just launched a 24-month full fibre broadband plan for just £25 per month, and the firm is saying you won’t pay a penny more than that each month right up to the end of your two year contract in 2028.

For £25 you’ll get speeds of 200Mbps, which is more than enough for households with two to four people who want to stay connected on their personal devices. It’s enough bandwidth even if you have a couple of people working from home on video calls, and it’ll handle the evening streaming when you’re all gathered around the telly.

If that’s not enough, faster 500Mbps and 900Mbps plans are also on offer for 24 months, with prices frozen at £28 and £32 per month respectively.

This price freeze promise is at odds with popular rivals such as BT and Virgin Media, many of whose current customers are seeing £4 price rises in April. Sky is raising broadband prices by £3, with many other firms such as TalkTalk, EE and Plusnet also raising bill prices.

The price promise is typical of Giffgaff, which does not raise prices for its mobile subscribers, whether they opt for set contracts or even monthly rolling plans with no contracts. If you pay £10 per month for a Giffgaff SIM plan, that’s how much you’ll always pay.

If you’d rather not sign up for 24 months of broadband, Giffgaff is offering the same 200Mbps plan on a rolling monthly basis for £29 per month, with that price frozen until the end of this year.
