‘Smuggled’ video shows Iran rebels’ explosive fight back against regim | World | News
Despite Iran’s internet shutdown video of armed acts of rebellion has come out of Iran showing attacks on symbolic regime targets.
This video shows acts of armed rebellion are being carried out in Iran by disparate groups aiming to overthrow the Ayatollah and Revolutionary Guard.
Members of the opposition MEK have attacked symbolic targets in Tehran and across Iran using automatic weapons and improvised weapons such as Molotov cocktails.
Information is scarce because of the nationwide shutdown of the internet. But these mobile phone videos show MEK rebel forces – operating as the National Liberation Army of Iran (NLA) using hit and run tactics to strike against regime targets.
In a new development, last night, details of one such attack were released with a statement saying: “In response to the suppression and torture of prisoners in Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran, specifically prisoners in Sheiban Prison and Sepidar Prison (Ahvaz), particularly prisoners under death sentences in these two prisons, a Unit of the National Liberation Army of Iran (NLA) attacked the Governorate building in the city of Ahvaz (the provincial capital).”
The MEK is also known as the PMOI (People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran) and is part of the opposition National Council for Resistance of Iran which has declared a Provisional Government under President Elect Maryam Rajavi.
The NCRI has fought the Ayatollah and his theocratic dictatorship since the 1979 Revolution, using Resistance Units – small cells of rebels operating largely independently carrying out low-level acts against the Regime.
However, the Units became more vocal and more active during the January uprising, which, by some accounts, claimed the lives of up to 40,000 protesters on Iran’s streets.
And in the days before Donald Trump’s Epic Fury military strikes the NLA even struck Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s compound.
Today’s statement added: “On February 23, 250 NLA fighters launched a daring assault on the headquarters of Ali Khamenei. During that operation, 100 of the fighters were killed or arrested, while 150 returned safely to their bases. The enemy suffered many casualties.
“The PMOI/MEK has submitted the names and information of 82 of those killed or arrested to the United Nations, ranging in age from 18 to 69, among them four women.
“The PMOI Resistance Units carried out 31 operations on March 3, and 20 operations on March 15, targeting the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and the Basij bases as well as other suppressive agencies of the regime.”
Day 18 saw conflict intensify today as Israeli strikes reportedly killed two senior Iranian officials, including top security chief Ali Larijani, while Tehran continued launching missiles and drones at Gulf states and commercial shipping. European governments again rejected President Donald Trump’s calls for military support to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, where Iranian attacks have kept oil prices near $100 a barrel and severely disrupted global shipping. However, the White House insisted the war could be over “in weeks, not months,” even as Iran’s regional drone and missile campaign widened and air defences across the Gulf intercepted incoming fire.
Meanwhile, Iran is in talks with FIFA to move its 2026 World Cup matches from the United States to Mexico, citing security concerns amid the escalating conflict.
