Mercedes principal Toto Wolff has reacted to a mixed Q3 despite the fact Kimi Antonelli and George Russell will be the front row for the Chinese GP.

That is because the latter faced electrical and front wing issues which meant he only managed one lap in Q3. That has allowed Antonelli to secure P1, however.

On Antonelli, Wolff said to Sky Sports: “Many said the kid was too young to be in a mercedes but he did good today.”

“You want to see them head to head but George couldn’t get out.”

On Russell’s issue, he said: “Looks like its [an] electrical [issue] we had to power cycle the car three times, I didn’t think it was going out but it still did

“Lets see how they get away from the start, the Ferrari’s will be pushing so it should be good.”
