Donald Trump humiliated by Piers Morgan as he issues warning to president | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Journalist Piers Morgan has issued a warning to Donald Trump in the wake of his administration releasing a bizarre video which splices footage from real-life drone strike videos from the Iran conflict with clips from a Nintendo Wii game. The post shows footage of strikes cut with parts of the Wii Sports game, with the programme’s recognisable upbeat music playing in the background as characters scored bullseyes. The caption accompanying the alarming post simply said: “UNDEFEATED.” It has been viewed almost 100 million times after being shared on March 12. Reacting to the video, Morgan fumed: “I loathe these posts that treat war like a video game. It’s deadly serious, and a lot of people are getting killed, including innocent children and US servicemen/women.”

Issuing a warning to the President, he added: “It’s not a game, Mr President @realDonaldTrump – please don’t treat it as such.”

Morgan’s remark sparked a mixed reaction, with one person penning: “It’s so disgusting. I mean, it’s not funny, this is not the time to strut, killing around like a proud peacock dancing during mating season. War is tragic and heavy, and we’re losing service members. Why not post about them? Why not honour the fallen on our side? This is sick.”

Another said: “Social media sometimes forgets that behind every headline there are real lives involved.”

A third added: “My question is clearly the White House thinks it’s working because they keep doing it. But who is their audience here? Is there a group of Americans who look at war in terms of a game?” Someone else penned: “It is grotesque coming from the White House.”

Meanwhile, someone added: “This is a way to capture the attention of the younger generations. I love the @WhiteHouse social media team. They’re absolute top tier.” Another penned: “The post was about military success, not treating war like a game.”

The conflict between Iran and Israel and the US has been wading on since the end of February.
