Beloved Liverpool singer Beverley George, who performing under the stage name Scouse Pink, has died following a four-year battle with cancer. The star who has been described as having a “heart of gold” died on Tuesday morning (February 24) surrounded by her family. The tragic news was announced by a relative, Wayne Fogg, via a Facebook post. Wayne disclosed that Beverley, also known as Beverley Sinnott, “gained her angel wings” at 9.20am, whilst her husband, Paul, and closest family members were by her side. He wrote: “She fought a very tough battle over the last four years but sadly took her last breath this morning with Paul, Yvonne, Lynn, Julia and me with her holding her hands.”

Wayne described his niece as “a force of nature”, adding: “At this time we know so many of you loved her and she will be missed by everyone who knew her, but we ask you all, please give Paul and the kids some time to grieve and gather themselves after the loss of our Bev. We will be announcing funeral details as soon as things are in place, thank you all.”
Touching tributes have also flooded in from the Simms Cross pub in Widnes, where Beverley had regularly performed during the past three years. In an emotional statement shared on the establishment’s Facebook page, staff described being “absolutely heartbroken” after losing their “dear friend and entertainer”.
The tribute stated: “Bev started here with us at Simmies three years ago, entertaining us and often shared our anniversary. She would always want to be part of the celebrations here. We quickly became good friends and Bev became part of the furniture.
“[She] often referred to me as her ‘twinnie’ with our uniquely styled shaved hair. We would often have a catch-up on Thursday now and then at Rocking Horse in Liverpool, then a quick drink in Ruby’s. Always a good laugh, just enjoying life. [She was a] beautiful person with a heart of gold. We’re going to miss you girl, what a fighter!”.
The message also characterised her as “very popular and loved by us all” whilst extending “deepest sympathy and love” to her husband and family.
Fans have also paid their respects on social media, with one writing: “Rip bev what a lovely women an singer you were.” Another said:”Absolutely heartbroken. Goodnight, our queen, you get your rest now.”
