Fans of Emmerdale favourite Kelvin Fletcher’s ITV series Fletcher’s Family Farm may already have heard about the holiday cottage he’s restored with his wife. What might come as more of a surprise, though, is that you can actually book a stay there yourself. But if you fancy experiencing the cottage for yourself, you’ll need to move quickly. August and September 2026 are already completely booked, and at the time of writing, there are just six individual nights left across May, June and July. Realistically, if you’re keen to fully embrace Fletcher’s farm life, you may be better off looking ahead to 2027.

Luckily, there’s still plenty of availability throughout 2027, including during the peak summer months, although August is almost gone, with just a single night left.

Stag Cottage sits close to the family’s farm in Sutton near Macclesfield in the Peak District and is a beautifully updated 18th-century stone property. Detached and full of character, it’s available to book through Sykes Holiday Cottage for self-catered breaks ranging from two nights to a full month.

Prices vary depending on the season and the length of your stay. For instance, we found a two-night break in May 2027 priced at £1,532. At first glance, it may seem steep, but with space for up to six guests, it can be surprisingly manageable when the cost is shared. Split six ways, it works out at £255 per person for two nights — that’s £127.50 per person, per night.

During an episode of Fletcher’s Family Farm, Kelvin’s wife and co-owner of the cottage, Liz Fletcher, said: “Since we put the cottage up for rent as a holiday let, it has just gone crazy. We put it online for about two days, and the year literally sold out….It’s just gone above and beyond our expectations.”

Kelvin has sweetly described the cottage as his wife’s “baby”, adding that if he ever can’t find her, he knows she’ll be “spending her time on her new obsession”.

Although previous guests have called the cottage “cosy,” it’s anything but cramped. There are three king-size bedrooms, one with its own en-suite, along with several inviting communal spaces. These include a sitting room and a snug, both complete with woodburning stoves, plus a conservatory for soaking up the views.

Encircled by Peak District countryside and private farmland, the cottage also has its own enclosed garden, ideal for families with young children who like to roam. Outside, you’ll find a lawn, patio, decking area and even a hot tub. One guest summed up their stay by saying: “Beautiful surroundings, fresh air, and plenty of space for the kids to explore.”

Inside, the generously sized farmhouse-style kitchen is framed by wooden beams and centred around a large island and an AGA range cooker. There’s also an oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine: everything you’d expect to make it feel like a home from home. Meals can be enjoyed in the cosy dining room, where windows look out onto the surrounding countryside.

As one previous guest wrote: “Loved walking into the kitchen and the warmth from the AGA gave it such a cosy feel. Such character too from the furnishings and old beams everywhere,”

Though Stag Cottage feels wonderfully tucked away, you won’t be short of things to do nearby. The village of Sutton has a general store for last-minute essentials and a historic pub, Sutton Hall, perfect for a leisurely lunch. Sykes also notes there are plenty of walking routes in the area, along with cycling-friendly trails.

For a day out, head east into the Peak District National Park, home to Bamford Mill, Peveril Castle and Speedwell Cavern.

One guest who stayed earlier this year said: “The cottage had everything we needed, and we received fast and helpful advice and support from Liz. I’d recommend Stag Cottage as an idyllic, quiet and cosy home for anyone’s restful holiday. Nearby, we found nice villages, pubs and amazing walks.”

There is, however, one potential drawback to bear in mind if you’re hoping to bring a four-legged friend. Dogs aren’t allowed at Stag Cottage. The property also does not host hen parties, stag dos or “similar parties”.
