A woman was allegedly dragged to the ground and sexually assaulted in a shocking incident in a UK seaside city, with police launching an urgent appeal. The unknown male attempted to pull down the victims top in a the shock attack.
At around 3am on September 12 2025, a woman was walking along New George Street in Plymouth when she was approached by a man in his early 20s. The suspect then engaged in conversation with the victim before attempting to pull her top down. He then followed the victim before dragging her to the ground and putting his hand over her mouth.

A female passerby, called Sophia, was alerted to the womans scream which subsequently caused the suspect to flee.
The witness gave the victim her jacket and walked her home. Sophia told the victim she was walking home from work.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his early 20s, with tattoos on his forearms and wearing a black puffa style jacket.
Officers are keen to speak to Sophia as part of the investigation which was launched when the sexual assault was reported to us on 26 January.
