Flight attendant warns 1 clothing item should be ‘illegal’ on planes | Travel News | Travel
As the grey and rainy winter months continue with no sight of sunshine, many Brits might be planning to jet off to chase the sun for some needed vitamin D. But if you’re planning to jet off on a holiday soon, the clothes you wear on a plane might not be the first thing on the list to think of, but it should be.
Deciding on the perfect travel outfit can impact your comfort levels on the flight, which will be especially important on longer journeys. While jeans can feel incredibly restrictive when sitting for so long, you don’t want to freeze if you opt for shorts and sandals during the flight.
So if you’re grappling with this conundrum, pay attention, as on TikTok user Cher, who has worked as a flight attendant for over six years, recently shared her top tips and tricks to her 24,000 followers. And there are certain clothing items she advises people to keep in their suitcases rather than wearing on travel days.
In her enlightening video, she outlined the: “Outfits I surprisingly approve of as a flight attendant.”
She went on to argue that donning shorts on a plane should be ‘illegal’ as it means your legs would be in contact with the ‘gross’ seats on the aircraft – having previously disclosed they rarely get cleaned.
Flight attendant’s ideal travel outfit
So what you wear instead? Cher argued the perfect travel outfit consists of loose, comfy trousers, trainers, a basic T-shirt and a jumper that covers your shoulders. This is suitable for both men and women, as you can utilise any clothes from your wardrobe that fit the bill.
“This is the perfect travel outfit no matter what,” she declared.
It ensures you look stylish while also being comfortable and shielded from the ‘gross’ seats and often chilly air on the plane.
However, if this doesn’t sound like something you’d want to wear then there are some alternatives she went on to recommend.
The first item was long maxi dresses, as Cher added: “Any variation of a long dress like this is cute, and your legs are covered, they’re not touching the seat.”
Similarly, she also recommended long maxi skirts, which would serve the same purpose. But make sure to not wear any sandals either, as Cher said: “Would I have my toes out? Absolutely not. But with sneakers, this would be perfect.”
Cher continued by explaining any variation of a co-ordinating ensemble featuring a long skirt and top makes an excellent choice if you want to appear stylish at the airport whilst remaining comfortable.
