Epstein ‘ordered 330 gallons of sulphuric acid’ in chilling payment | World | News
Jeffrey Epstein reportedly had six 55-gallon drums of sulphuric acid, totalling 330 gallons, delivered to his private island. A request form appears to show the disgraced financier purhcase the acid through LSJE LLC.
According to the document buried within the millions of Epstein Files, the sulphuric acid was purchased for $4,373.17 (£3,198.32) on June 12, 2018. The timing coincided with the FBI opening a federal investigation into Epstein’s trafficking activities.
The request on the form reads: “x 6 55 gal drums sulphuric acid w/fuel and insurance charge for transport; materials for conductivity probes; replacement pH and cable – RO Plant.” RO stands for Reverse Osmosis – a water purification system.
Sulphuric acid is one of the most widely used chemicals for water treatment, fertilizer production and battery manufacturing. It is also used for other applications including metal processing.
Epstein died in a New York jail cell in 2019 while he awaited his trial on sex trafficking charges. He was denied bail after being convicted for soliciting prostitution from a minor, for which he was registered as a sex offender.
Epstein was accused of running a “vast network” of underage girls for sex. The troves of files recently released by Donald Trump‘s Department of Justice include photos, videos and emails taken from his private computers.
The department said it would be released more than 3 million pages of documents along with more than 2,000 videos and 180,000 images. They include documents involving Epstein’s relationship with disgraced royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Both Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have made numerous appearances in the Epstein Files. Among the allegations is a claim that an exotic dancer performed “various sex acts” with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and Andrew.
Being mentioned in the files does not suggest any wrongdoing and Andrew has repeatedly and vehemently denied any wrongdoing. Meanwhile, Fergie’s spokesperson previously said she had expressed regret over her association with Epstein.
The official position from Buckingham Palace remains that the King and Queen’s “thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse”.
