Alton Towers gives first look at new Bluey rollercoaster for 2026 | UK | Travel
Fans of the Heeler family will shortly be able to experience a Bluey-themed rollercoaster at Alton Towers, with an exclusive preview revealing what fans of the programme can expect.
The animated canine family, loved by younger audiences and secretly beloved by many parents, are already established features of CBeebies Land with their own live theatrical show and popular character meet-and-greets. However, this rollercoaster will mark the world’s first Bluey-themed attraction, positioning the programme alongside CBeebies classics including Peter Rabbit and Hey Duggee.
The rollercoaster’s title has been unveiled as Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies!, with a preview image showing Bluey and Bingo sporting their granny outfits. The grannies – Janet and Rita – travel in their car at the front with multiple rollercoaster carriages trailing behind.
The attraction’s design references a first season episode of the programme, Grannies, where Bingo and Bluey dress as cheeky elderly ladies and create havoc around the home, learn how to floss, and succeed in crashing their vehicle. Their shout of “Here come the grannies!” marks the beginning of their game and alerts their parents to join in with the imaginative play.
Natasha Spence, Events Director of Live Entertainment at BBC Studios said: “We know that whenever the Grannies come out to play, it is a fan-favourite moment for those that love the show. We are excited that the energy of these much-loved characters is being brought to life in Bluey’s first-ever coaster at Alton Towers Resort – home to CBeebies Land.”
The live stage performance will carry on at the Big Fun Showtime area, where children can pose for a picture with Bingo, Bluey, Bandit, and Chilli following the show. And Bluey superfans will be delighted to learn that the Alton Towers Resort is introducing extra Bluey-themed accommodation to the CBeebies Land Hotel.
The Bluey room takes inspiration from the Heeler family’s colourful household and features family portraits adorning the walls. Accommodating up to five guests, youngsters have their own space with bunk beds that looks just like Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom perfectly, allowing them to enjoy an exciting sleepover adventure. Even the bathroom has a Bluey theme for additional fun during bath time for your own mucky pups.
Groups of up to seven can alternatively reserve a Bluey suite, which boasts a distinct children’s sleeping quarter, alongside a roomy themed play area where youngsters can imagine they’re enjoying a playdate at the Heeler residence. Booking accommodation at the CBeebies Land Hotel also provides access to various activities and entertainment including a children’s disco during the evening, whilst all overnight stays feature a complete English breakfast buffet come morning.
Further information about the new rollercoaster and its official launch date will be announced soon. Find out more about CBeebies Land and book tickets via the official Alton Towers website.
