Victoria Beckham Beauty gift set works out to £13 per item

Victoria Beckham Beauty is one of the most premium celebrity makeup brands out there, and that comes with premium prices. Luckily, thanks to a newly launched discovery set, the brand is giving curious shoppers the opportunity to try some of its bestsellers, including an eye pencil that customers say is “perfect for mature eyes”.

The brand’s Discovery Collection Volume 1 is currently available for £65, and the star product is the popular Satin Kajal Liner, which retails for £33 on its own, reports the Mirror. There are also four minis, including two cleansers and two mascaras. Together, the five core items average out to £13 per product, making it an enticing option for anyone intrigued by the brand but unsure where to begin.

Inside the box, shoppers will also find three luxury sample booklets, showcasing shades from the Concealer Pen, Posh Lipstick range and the brand’s fragrance collection. It’s important to note that these booklets are purely for shade exploration, so anticipate a minuscule sample. Although only the liner is available in a full size, the set is a great introduction to the brand’s top sellers, allowing beauty enthusiasts to try a wide range of products before committing to full sizes.

The highly praised Satin Kajal Liner is the centrepiece of this set and comes with a sharpener to keep it smooth and precise. The fan favourite is described as having a creamy, smudge-free formula and comes in 22 shades, but the one included here is a warm, shimmery brown called Cinnamon. The shade is versatile enough to work for many eye shades, while the subtle shimmer can add definition to any look.

The liner also claims to be waterproof and includes a blending tool on the other end for creating a smoky eye look.

It is a hit with shoppers in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s, and has 25,000 five-star reviews on the brand’s website. One said: “I gave up on eyeliner until now. I’m 72 and applying makeup as you age is difficult, especially eyeliner, but not anymore.”

A second shopper, in their 60s, said: “These eyeliners are my ride or die. They are perfect for mature eyes with more loose skin. The formula is creamy, soft and blends like a dream, and you have perfect time to play around before they set, and when they set, they stay where you want them to stay.”

The only issue some have highlighted is that the eyeliner is very creamy, which allows it to smudge. As this is a kajal formula, which is typically quite soft, people who prefer more precise lines instead of a smoky eye may want to opt for something like a liquid eyeliner.

Beyond the star product, the discovery set includes travel-sized versions of Victoria Beckham Beauty’s most popular formulas, such as the Daily Cleansing Protocol. This is made up of two cleansers intended to be used together as a double-cleansing routine. There is an oil cleanser meant to remove dirt and makeup while hydrating skin, and a gel cleanser designed to gently exfoliate skin to help it appear brighter.

There are also two mini mascaras, the Future Lash Mascara and the Vast Lash Mascara. The former has a conditioning formula that claims to add lift and volume, and is currently sold out in black. The latter, a volumising formula, is out of stock on the website at the moment, but shoppers are writing in the reviews that they “loved” it.

Fans of the brand were pleased with the discovery set, with one writing: “Beautifully packaged and loved the mascara. I was amazed at how much you received, but most importantly, it allowed you to get the right shade for purchase.”

Another noted the set is a great way to try some of the brand’s products, saying: “Wanted to try VB products, and the discovery set was a great way of doing this.”

A third review said: “As a person who doesn’t often make up, I ended up using some of the testers. The eye pencil is really easy to apply. The product is creamy and doesn’t irritate my eyelid eczema.”

However, one shopper left a mixed review, saying: “I love the quality of VB Beauty, but I must say I hate the curved bristle brush of the mini mascara.”

But most feedback was positive, with one fan writing: “The quality of the products is INCREDIBLE. I wish more companies did this. LOVED IT, and it made me see what colour/shade looks best for my skintone and what products sit well on me.”
