Two Belgian holidaymakers exploring some of England’s top destinations encountered an unexpected U-turn during their trip to Cornwall. Unimpressed by London YouTubers Naick and Kim embarked on a road trip across southern England to discover what else the nation had on offer.
Their journey took them through Rye, Exeter, the Jurassic Coast and Wiltshire before arriving in St Ives, Cornwall, one of TripAdvisor’s top 10 European beaches.
Renowned for its sandy shores and breathtaking coastline, the duo made it the place for them to try fish and chips for the first tine.
Feeling peckish en route, they popped into Morrisons to grab some nibbles, including macaroni pies.
After one mouthful of the pie however, Naick held it towards the camera and said: “[That] does not look like Marconi, I think we’ve been scammed.”

Upon reaching St Ives, the couple were instantly charmed by the “magical” atmosphere surrounding them.
“I’m just loving the vibe here,” Naick remarked. “It’s sunny weather, people on vacation. Why do English people even go to France on holiday?”.
The pair proceeded to capture their first time eating fish and chips on the beach – though what unfolded next left them stunned.
“Little did we know, we were in for a big surprise,” Kim revealed.
“St Ives, of course, [we] started off at a fishing village so we had to come here for a little chippy,” Naick continued.
“Some fish and chips, we got it at Harbour Fish and Chips because they use locally sourced fish and locally sourced potatoes to make everything fresh from scratch.”
As the duo settled into their seaside feast, they quickly understood why the seagull warning notices were on display.
Spotting one of the birds eyeing up their meal, with several more circling overhead, Kim remarked: “I have seagull anxiety.”
Moments later, as additional gulls descended upon them, Naick declared: “I think we’re going to have to make a run for it.”
“This was not the best idea,” Kim chimed in, as they made a quick dash to a calmer spot.
Reflecting on the experience, Naick said: “I can’t believe in the first 48 hours, we got scammed and robbed by locals here.

“What is this? The people are fine, it’s the wildlife.”
Kim quipped: “Seagulls are like the pirates of the shoreline, I tell you.”
Despite their unfortunate encounter with the seagulls, the couple were thoroughly pleased with their fish and chips.
Delivering his verdict, Naick stated: “As a Belgian, I think I can judge if fries are good or not,” before describing them as “pretty good”.
Kim was equally delighted with her “really good” fish and chips accompanied by curry sauce, particularly savouring the “crunchy” cod.
