Fortunately, 2026 might just deliver “one of the greatest years for cinema”, according to one film enthusiast.

Kev, who goes by @moviemanmanman on TikTok, regularly shares movie suggestions with his 405,300 followers, and he believes 2026 is shaping up to be an extraordinary year for films.

His video opened with text overlay asking: “Do you realise how amazing 2026 can be for film?” before declaring: “I don’t think people understand that 2026 may just be one of the greatest years for cinema this entire century.”

He highlighted that “some of the great working directors” are releasing films next year, including Christopher Nolan with The Odyssey, Denis Villeneuve delivering Dune: Part Three, and ‘his favourite director’ Steven Spielberg who is “getting back to his roots and coming up with a UFO film” featuring Emily Blunt, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell and Josh O’Connor.

Kev also referenced Jordan Peele returning with his “first film in four years” and Robert Eggers unveiling a werewolf picture.

He added: “Not only that but you have huge blockbusters such as Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday.”

The film buff emphasised you “can’t forget” about The Mandalorian and Grogu, plus major adaptations from literature like Project Hail Mary. The film enthusiast also revealed his keen anticipation for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, dubbing it ‘one of his most-anticipated movies of next year’.

He noted that the horror genre is “cooking” with upcoming releases like Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, Scream 7, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Evil Dead Burn and Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride!, featuring Christian Bale.

On the comedy front, Kev highlighted Focker In-Law and Scary Movie 6. He also pointed out eagerly awaited sequels such as Shrek 5, and Toy Story 5, along with the Michael Jackson biopic and The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Wrapping up his video, he declared: “2025 has been great, but blimey, 2026 is going to be cooking.”

His clip was a hit among fans, garnering over 3,000 likes.

One commented: “I’m hyped for Project Hail Mary! And Sunrise on the Reaping!” Another chimed in: “Weirdly really excited for 28 Years continuation. The one from this year was amazing!”.

A third added: “If everything goes right 2026 might be better then 1994 for films.”
