Kent Police are appealing for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage showing a grey Mercedes estate car to come forward. Anyone with information about the crash can report it by calling 01622 798538 and quoting reference 29-0481.

A pedestrian has tragically lost his life following a serious crash, prompting police to release CCTV images of two men they wish to question as part of their ongoing investigation.

Kent Police were alerted at approximately 12.10pm on Monday, December 29, following a serious collision between a male pedestrian and a car on A289 Gads Hill, Gillingham, The Mirror reports.

Emergency services, including South East Coast Ambulance paramedics, attended the scene, but sadly, the man was later pronounced dead.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have circulated images of two individuals who they believe could provide crucial information for their enquiries.

“While we appreciate the quality of these images isn’t crystal clear, we are still in the early stages of our investigation and thank everyone who has provided images and witness accounts so far,” stated Detective Inspector Zoe Wilczek.

Road closures remain in effect while investigations continue. Pier Road is currently closed between The Strand and Gads Hill.

Motorists in Medway were confronted with significant delays on Monday afternoon. According to traffic and travel monitoring service Inrix, the eastbound carriageway was shut between Church Street and Gads Hill/Lower Rainham Road.

Although the westbound carriageway remained open, there were reports of queued traffic along this section.

Kent Live reported a substantial emergency service presence in the area, including a police helicopter.
