M&S ‘beautifully soft’ cashmere jumper shoppers are snapping up

With knitwear season well and truly here, many will be unearthing old favourites from the wardrobe, from chunky turtlenecks to finely knit cardigans. For those seeking to upgrade their style with a premium touch, M&S is selling this pure cashmere dance slogan jumper designed in collaboration with Bella Freud for £140.

The limited-edition black jumper has been crafted from pure cashmere, a luxurious material that’s known for its supreme softness. Across the front, the word ‘dance’ has been emblazoned in glittery gold capital lettering, reminding wearers of what’s important.

Cut in a slim fit with a neat crew neck and ribbed trims, this jumper will pair with just about anything, including jeans, skirts, or even pyjamas on loungey days at home. It’s also machine washable at 40 degrees for easy care, but shouldn’t be tumble dried, the brand says.

The M&S x Bella Freud jumper runs from XS to XL, although XL is currently out of stock. According to the reviews, some shoppers sized up for a looser fit.

For a little more of a statement, shoppers could try this Everyday The Label block striped sweater from Debenhams, which is 73% off for £28.80. Its relaxed neckline and bold, blocky pattern in green and gold provide a casual look that can still be dressed up.

Alternatively, Next is selling a lovely winter knit — this Nothing Ordinary Fairisle high-neck jumper — for £139. It’ll certainly keep wearers cosy with a high neck, and its striking Fairisle pattern in shades of navy, peach, gold, and cream is perfect for the season.

However, many shoppers are happy with their M&S x Bella Freud cashmere jumper, and it’s currently rated 4.9 out of 5 on the retailer’s website. One review said: “Beautifully soft. I bought this to wear around Christmas. It’s warm without being bulky and adds a bit of sparkle with the ‘dance’ lettering.”

A second added: “Great quality jumper and nice long sleeves! I’m usually a size 12 but ordered a large for a slightly looser fit. I’ve always wanted a cashmere jumper and I’m hoping this will last for years.”

Another shared their experience: “I love this jumper, it fits well in an XS for my size 6–8 top, but for a slightly bigger fit go for the small if you’re a size 8. Lovely sparkly ‘dance’ on the front, good to dress up with jeans, and Christmassy!”

One did mention the sizing in their review: “Nice cashmere and a bit of fun with the gold lettering. Slightly more fitted than the M&S cashmere I have, but I like it.”

A second gave the cashmere jumper four stars, commenting on the price: “Lovely, soft cashmere that’s warm but lightweight. Removed a star as quite pricey compared to Autograph, but I guess you’re paying for the Bella Freud label.”
