There’s a new way to watch TV in the UK from today, and it finally offers the ability to binge on boxsets without the need for any annoying cables. It’s called the Movingstyle and is the latest release from Samsung. To make it fully portable, this 27-inch gogglebox is powered by batteries so it doesn’t need to be plugged into the mains to work. Once fully charged, owners will get around three hours of playback before things run flat – that’s easily enough to watch a blockbuster movie.

A stand with wheels and a carry handle also makes it super simple to move from room to room, and it offers the option to be viewed in both landscape and portrait modes.

It’s fully Wi-Fi enabled and comes pre-installed with all the latest streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney+ along with a huge library of TV shows and movies in the Samsung TV Plus app.

Audio is powered by Dolby Atmos, and Samsung’s Object Tracking Sound Lite enhances the immersive experience by synchronising sound with the image on the 120hz refresh rate display.

Even when the Smart TV is off, owners can stay informed with what matters through Samsung’s daily Now Brief, which can be customised with useful widgets like Weather, Music, Memos and more. The Now Brief can also ‘wake up’ hands-free with voice activation, so there’s no need to find the remote when wanting to watch some content. 

Other extras include Samsung’s Gaming Hub, which eliminates the need for a console and it offers an easy way to share content from devices such as phones and tablets.

Finally, the Movingstyle features Sketch Now, the whiteboard app where users can use their fingers to sketch, write and create, turning the display into a canvas for everyone in the home.

The Movingstyle is on sale today at John Lewis and costs £1199.
