Hair removal device with £107 off hailed ‘best purchase ever’

It’s no secret that one of life’s most time-consuming and mundane beauty tasks is the maintaining and removing of body hair on areas like legs, armpits, face and more intimate areas like the bikini line (especially before holiday).

Many people for this upkeep turn to razors for a quick, at home solution while others look to beauty salons for wax treatments that often cost more than they’re worth (and are usually painful).

But beauty fans have been turning to IPL (intense pulsed light technology) devices in the last few years, which offer an easy, long-term, pain-free solution to smoother, hair-free skin. And with major deals available at many retailers, now’s a great opportunity to try one for less.

For example, at LookFantastic, shoppers can save £107.60 on the Foreo Peach 2 Go Device in Arctic Blue with its usual price reduced from £269 to £161.40.

Boasting a handheld, compact and travel-friendly design, the device utilises five intensities and two modes (stamp and glide) to ensure good coverage regardless of hair size.

Its IPL technology delivers up to 120 flashes per minute, making for a swift and simple hair removal process which can be used on both the face and body.

While the thought of flashes on the skin may not be appealing, the gadget comes with a built-in cooling system, which keeps the experience as comfortable as possible during the treatment, whilst leaving skin silky smooth.

How it works is, the Foreo Peach 2 Go Device emits gentle pulses of broad-spectrum light which travels through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair shaft. This light energy is then transformed into heat which helps to reduce future hair growth at the root. Now, it won’t show results straight away, but after a few treatments users should see a slowing down and reduction in hair growth. Optimal results are seen after around 12 weeks.

The device is to be used in conjunction with the FOREO app. Ahead of the treatment, shoppers can scan their skin into the Foreo app to set it for optimal treatment.

The Foreo gadget at this cost is a great alternative to more expensive models, such as the Philips Lumea 8000 Series – currently on sale at Boots for £270 from £509.99 – and the Braun IPL Silk·expert Pro 5, now £289.99 from £599.99. The latter comes with 10 different intensities with its SkinPro 2.0 skin sensor automatically adapting to skin tone, while there are three modes to choose from: normal, gentle and extra gentle.

The Philips Lumea also comes with skin sensors to ensure no damage is done to sensitive areas of skin, as well as four different attachments, catering to the hair on the body, face, bikini and underarms.

The Foreo device is great for those always on the go as it takes only ten minutes to deliver a full body treatment. This is most likely thanks to its 9cm2 coverage, which rivals that of most ‘other IPL devices’ which have a treatment range of 3cm2.

Shoppers who have got their hands on this nifty little device have been wowed by its results, with one person sharing their experience: “After two months of using this device I can honestly say that it is over with shaving and I love it. This was the best purchase ever and I love the results and how it takes no time to do the treatment or to see the results”

Another echoed: “I was a bit sceptical but it works. I only used it 4 times before my holidays and I didn’t have to shave for 5 days! Normally I would have to shave daily. Can’t wait to do full 12 sessions and see how long I can go without shaving. Device is very easy and quick to use. I would recommend.”

Someone else raved: “The Peach 2 go is highly efficient and the results are better than what I imagined they would be. The prep work is minimal, and the results are fantastic and painless too, which is a huge perk. I’m very pleased with the smooth user experience, the pain-free treatments and the high-quality design.”

“After a few weeks of regular use, I’m seeing significant results. Hair growth is noticeably reduced. Another plus is the intuitive user interface, which is easy to understand even for beginners,” said another.

Although with it being marketed as a travel-friendly device, it isn’t wireless and requires a plug to be powered up. One additional let down one shopper voiced how it lacked a casing.

They said: “honestly, I just fully cannot wrap my head around why the supposedly travel friendly device, that is fragile and needs a clean lense comes without any kind of travel pouch or case. Why?.. What am I supposed to carry it in? I don’t get it. Other than that it works. Comes with a whole bunch of loose, of course, travel adapters, which is okay, I guess. [It] doesn’t burn too much. I don’t think the cooling serum is needed.”

It’s also important to note that the device is ineffective on those with blonde, grey or ginger hair as they do not contain enough melanin in the hair follicles.
