ATP Tour make major announcement right before Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz speeches | Tennis | Sport

Nitto has been the title sponsor of the season-ending championships since 2017, when the tournament was still staged in London. The ATP Finals moved to Turin from 2021 to 2025, with Nitto still on board.

The men’s tour has already confirmed that the tournament will stay in Italy through to 2030 – and Takasaki has announced that Nitto would remain the main event sponsor for the next five years.

“Before hearing from the players, special announcement from Mr. Takasaki from Nitto corporation, welcome,” Gaudenzi told the crowd during the trophy presentation on Sunday.

The Nitto CEO stunned the crowd when he addressed them in Italian, before switching to English to make the announcement. Takasaki said: “Since the beginning of our partnership in 2017 we have held a strong belief to support those of you that take on challenges. Through the power of tennis, we have worked to bring surprise and inspiration to people all around the world.

“Today, Nitto is proud to announce that we will continue as title partner of ATP Finals through 2030. And together with players, together with ATP, together with FITP, and most importantly together with you. Together with the fans.”

Earlier in the tournament, Gaudenzi also addressed the future of the tournament’s location. The ATP Finals is expected to stay in Turin in 2026, but no host city has been announced for 2027 to 2030 in Italy.

“We haven’t really decided, other than next year. It’s a conversation we need to have with FITP [Italian Tennis Federation] I think probably early next year. Yeah, there hasn’t been a decision yet.

“We’re super happy here. That’s obviously a consideration that we need to take into account. But we haven’t decided, we haven’t made a final decision. We’ve agreed to sit down after this event and have a debate early next year.”
