Santander explains who will get £200 bonuses | Personal Finance | Finance


Santander has announced plans to offer £200 payments “within 90 days” to eligible banking customers who take certain steps.

The bank has reached out via email to those who use Santander for services other than their current account.

Part of the emails read: “It’s never been easier to move your income, Direct Debits, and standing orders from your old bank to us. Plus, when you get a current account with us, you can make use of our award-winning Mobile Banking app.”

Santander further promises to “transfer £200 into your eligible account within 90 days of your request to switch when you use the Current Account Switch Service [CASS].”

To qualify for the cash bonus, people must submit a switch request to an eligible current account before the offer is withdrawn.

Within 60 days of the initial application, they must also complete the full switch using the CASS, maintain two active household Direct Debits on the account, and deposit at least £1,500.

Household Direct Debits include council tax bills, mobile and home phone bills, broadband and paid-for TV packages, gas and electric bills, and water bills, according to Santander.

Those who have held a current account with Santander since January 1, 2025, or have previously received a Santander switcher incentive, will not be eligible for the switching bonus.

The bonus is available with the Everyday Current Account, Santander Edge current account, Santander Edge Up current account, Santander Edge Explorer current account and Private Current Account.

However, Santander has warned that it may withdraw the offer at any time. And that terms and conditions apply.
