Jeffrey Epstein made several scathing remarks about Donald Trump, including casting doubt on his mental sharpness, according to documents unveiled by the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

Republican committee members provided access to approximately 20,000 pages of materials obtained from Epstein’s estate. The disclosure followed Democrats on the committee sharing correspondence between Epstein and his long-time accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

“Democrats whine about ‘releasing the files,’ but they only cherry-pick when they have them to generate clickbait,” Republicans on the House Oversight Committee wrote on X, sharing a link to the document dump and writing, “You deserve the full truth.”

Epstein, who had previously been acquainted with Trump, referenced the now-president on multiple occasions in the freshly disclosed documents. The disgraced sex offender spoke disparagingly of Trump and even cast aspersions on his mental faculties, describing him as “borderline insane.”

The materials reveal the men’s friendship had deteriorated considerably by the time Trump’s political ambitions began to flourish.

Shortly following Trump’s initial swearing-in during January 2017, another email exchange between Epstein and a New York Times journalist mentioned Trump in relation to the contentious “Muslim ban” at the time, CNN reported.

Relationship soured

“IT helps as he is seen to be keeping his word, it is importnat with putin and north korea. as you notice north korea has not fired there missile that he promised wouldn’t happen. [Former President Barack Obama] was never able to effecturate that,” Epstein wrote.

“That being said Donald is f—- crazy I told you that,” he added.

In 2018, Epstein questioned whether Trump was displaying signs of “early dementia” whilst referencing Michael Wolff’s book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.

Wolff has penned several books about Trump’s presidencies.

A New York Times journalist told Epstein that Trump was “looking/sounding increasingly unhinged,” and Epstein responded, “no questions donalds statement is goofy. . early dementia? [sic]”.

Trump insulted

In December 2018, Epstein insulted Trump whilst messaging former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, writing, “Trump – borderline insane.”

Epstein branded Trump “borderline insane” again that same month in another exchange.

This time, Epstein claimed his statement was “corroborated by some that are close.”

Democrats unveil emails between Epstein and accomplice.

Before Republicans unveiled the massive trove of files from the Epstein estate, Democrats on the Oversight Committee revealed emails between Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for trafficking minors.

In the correspondence, Epstein alleges that Trump spent considerable time with a victim at Epstein’s residence.

Deomocrat ‘fake smears’

Democrats on the committee kept the name redacted; nevertheless, it was subsequently disclosed that the victim was Virginia Giuffre, one of the most outspoken Epstein accusers.

Epstein alleged he was expelled from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, stating “Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever. . of course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop. [sic]”.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed the emails were “selectively linked” to the “liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.

“The ‘unnamed victim’ referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions.

“The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre,” Leavitt added.

“These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again.”

Tragic Giuffre’s verdict

Republicans on the committee also issued a statement, declaring “Why did Democrats cover up the name when the Estate didn’t redact it in the redacted documents provided to the committee?

“It’s because this victim, Virginia Giuffre, publicly said that she never witnessed wrongdoing by President Trump. Democrats are trying to create a fake narrative to slander President Trump. Shame on them.”

In a 2016 deposition, Giuffre stated that she didn’t believe Trump was aware of any alleged sexual abuse of minors in Epstein’s home. “I don’t think Donald Trump participated in anything,” she said, as per documents unsealed in 2024.

“That would have to be another assumption. I never saw or witnessed Donald Trump participate in those acts, but was he in the house of Jeffrey Epstein? I’ve heard he has been, but I haven’t seen him myself, so I don’t know.”

Trump has consistently denied any misconduct related to the Epstein case, has not been accused of any crimes by law enforcement and has never been identified as the subject of any investigation.
