You might be thinking of getting away from the UK for your holiday but these destinations could make you think again. Which? has revealed the top seven seaside spots that you won’t need to fly out of the country for – and there’s some stunning places on the list.
Its research considered hotel prices, beaches, seafront/ pier areas, food and drink, accommodation, tourist attractions, scenery, shopping, parking, peace and quiet, and finally, value for money.
It then concluded a general destination score to determine the best overall UK spots.
7. Dungeness
Dungeness gained a 78% destination score.
Home to a desert-like landscape, this destination offers an eerie beauty and artistic charm.
This quaint beach area gained three out of five stars for its beach and did not recieve a score for its seafront and pier.

5. Sidmouth
According to the research, Sidmouth gained a score of 79% overall.
This pretty seaside area recieved scores of four out of five for its beach and five out of five for its seafront and pier.
You’ll find this area nestled on the Jurassic Coast, with stunning red cliffs and family-friendly beaches.
Sidmouth is perfect for dramatic coastal walks. It gained just two stars out of five for its parking but was awarded five stars for its scenery.
