Lloyds Bank to close 10 branches in July – full list of dates and locations | Personal Finance | Finance
Lloyds Bank serves millions of UK customers, but now you might struggle to find a branch after a series of closures. The bank will close 10 branches this month, with customers urged to use online and phone banking rather than visit branches.
But this isn’t the first the bank has named a series of closures. This year, it has closed 254 branches in total. Lloyds Bank is set to close 116 of its branches over the next two years, and it’s not the only bank to be making changes, with Halifax also shutting multiple branches.
With modern technology, physical banks are seeing less demand as online banking becomes more popular.
Another huge bank to shut some of its branches is NatWest who closed 20 banks across the UK last month, reports The Sun.
On its website, Lloyds Bank says: “When making changes to our branch network, we always look to understand the impact on our customers – including how they continue to access banking services.
“Because of this, we may sometimes have a Community Banker visit the area after the branch closes.
“Or as part of an independent review a Banking Hub or Deposit Service may be set up in a nearby location. We follow Financial Conduct Authority guidance when announcing closures.”
