The president directed strong criticism at cable news networks, calling their reporting “fake news” and repeating longstanding grievances with journalists and media executives.

In a separate series of posts on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump singled out individual anchors and executives, accusing them of bias and misinformation.

“CNN is scum and so is MSDNC,” he said. “They‘re all! And frankly, the networks aren’t much better. It’s all fake news!”

Speaking to reporters ahead of his departure for the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump defended “Operation Midnight Hammer,” a US-led bombing raid over the weekend that targeted three underground nuclear facilities in Iran.

The president described the operation as a “spectacular military success,” claiming that it had “completely and totally obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program.

However, several media outlets, including CNN and MSNBC, have reported that the strikes may not have fully destroyed Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

Citing weapons experts and satellite imagery, these reports noted that Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium, particularly at the Isfahan site, may have remained untouched.

Analysts noted that while the Fordow facility may have been damaged, much of Iran’s enriched uranium is believed to be stored elsewhere in fortified underground bunkers.

Trump rejected those assessments, saying the criticisms were aimed at undermining the military personnel involved in the operation.

“Those pilots hit their targets,” he said. “They should be given credit.” He added that media outlets were “trying to demean” both his leadership and the success of the mission.

Trump’s remarks came one day after he announced what he called a “complete and total” ceasefire between Iran and Israel. That truce appeared to collapse within hours, with both nations reportedly engaging in renewed strikes.

The president expressed disappointment in both countries, saying, “Iran violated it, but Israel violated it too,” and voiced concern about the escalating conflict.

“We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what they’re doing,” he said.

The situation in the Middle East is expected to be a key topic at this week’s NATO summit, where Trump will meet with allied leaders to discuss regional stability, defence coordination, and international diplomatic efforts related to Iran’s nuclear program.
