Ignore the Galaxy S24 – Samsung makes its ‘best’ new phone more affordable
Samsung’s range of Galaxy bendable devices continues to improve with Express.co.uk recently calling the new Z Flip 6 the firm’s “best foldable yet”. This call maker now gets a faster Qualcomm processor, better cameras, tougher design and is packed with intelligent upgrades via smart Galaxy AI. As you can read in our full Galaxy Z Flip6 review, it’s a solid device but, until now, it’s not exactly been cheap.
Fans wanting to take delivery will need to splash out over £1,040 to own it which is far more than the £799 Galaxy S24. Luckily, that’s just changed with Samsung confirming a deal that’s slashing £100 off the asking price.
That discount means you can grab the Z Flip6 for just £949.
It’s still more than the S24 but that price isn’t exactly a fair comparison as the standard Z Flip6 comes with 256GB of internal memory which is double that found in its non-bendable sibling.
Boost the S24 up to 256GB and you’ll currently pay £859 which means there’s now just £100 difference between the two.
There are some positives and negatives of switching to a flip phone.
On the plus side, you get a huge 6.7-inch screen that folds in half to make it easier to pocket. Thanks to its design you can easily snap selfies with its impressive main camera system and the dual screens offer useful features such as being able to easily communicate with people in a foreign language as they can read what you are saying on one display whilst you see the response on the other.
Pulling the Flip from your pocket is still a crowd-pleaser – it’s simply nice to have something a little different in your pocket rather than a big slab of metal and glass.
So what about the negatives?
The Galaxy S24 has a better triple-lens camera, it is still cheaper to buy and there are no question marks over its long-term durability.

So, it’s up to you about whether to go for a Flip but now is certainly a good time to invest thanks to that price cut.
One final thing to note is that Argos currently has a bunch of deals on the S24 and many of Samsung’s other devices with codes reducing the price by up to 20 percent.
